Steps for Reimbursement
Step 1: Submit documentation for your expenses in your account.
**Please review our article on submitting a reimbursement for more details on how to do this.
Step 2: Our documentation review team will review your request.
Step 3: You’ll receive an email notification letting you know your expense was verified or needs more information. Once verified, your company’s administrator will be notified that reimbursements are due.
- With ICHRA you must attest once a month, every month. No reimbursements will be approved without attesting for the month first. Attesting is just confirming whether or not you are still insured that month. See the Attestation article to walk you through the process.
Step 4: Your company’s administrator approves the expense amount and schedules a payout date. This date will show on your dashboard.
Who pays you?
All reimbursements come directly from your employer. PeopleKeep reviews your reimbursement requests to ensure they are compliant with IRS regulations. PeopleKeep does not keep any funds, schedule payouts, or process the actual payout of any funds.
How long does it take to get reimbursed?
Your company’s administrator is responsible for scheduling payout dates. While most employers payout the following pay period, they have a 90-day window to pay out any reimbursement. If the employer opts to use the 90 days, the administrator should communicate this with the employees. We recommend checking with your company administrator for any clarification needed on the timing of when you could expect to see a reimbursement once a request is verified as eligible.
How will I receive payment?
Each employer opts to process payments differently. We commonly see reimbursements paid by check, payroll, ACH, or cash. We recommend checking with your company administrator for any clarification needed on how you will receive your reimbursement.
